Caveat Emptor....

Some of Pairpoint's finest work is found within their Fine Arts Line of products. The Fine Arts Line represents the combination of the famous silver-plated metalwares with exquisite examples of hand-blown glasswares. For today's collectors, the beauty and desirability of these items is sadly almost offset by our words of caution.

Just today I was having an email conversation with a dealer/collector who has a magnificent metal base from a very rare Candlestick for sale. We were discussing the likelihood of being able to ever find the glass portion for this item, and the saleability of the base alone. As I explained in our conversation, for every one glass component of a Fine Arts Line item, I have seen 50 or 60 metal bases being offered for sale.

Sandy and I never buy a metal Fine Arts Line component unless we already have the correct glass portion that is looking for its metal mate. We cannot be unique in our realization that there are NOT many glass components floating around looking for the base. This should raise the red flag to all that the easy availability and sale of the many metal parts in the marketplace must be serving another purpose. Would anyone care to guess what that purpose is?
lPairpoint Fine Arts Line metal components are absolutely perfect for anyone desiring to create a MARRIAGE of components never intended to be together. It is particularly disturbing that with every Pairpoint metal part being signed and numbered (Catalog Number), an illegitimate marriage suddenly becomes a Pairpoint treasure, with the hefty price tag following close behind. For everyone's benefit, I am showing what I believe to be the most easily available and rapidly sold metal base on eBay...Pairpoint's #4970 Cherub-based Cigarette Holder. I think the images shown will conclude my message.

In closing I only want to say, "Be Careful." There is a disturbingly high percentage of Pairpoint Fine Arts Line items being sold today that are marriages or have missing parts. Please contact us if you are contemplating the purchase of items being represented as Pairpoint's Fine Arts Line. A quick look at a catalog page should resolve any uncertainty, and save a lot of money.
